STUPID KANSAS CHURCH IS DESTROYING CHRISTIANITY
Current mood: determined

Ok, I am sick of that stupid church in Kansas destroying Christianity.  No wonder it's so hard to talk to people about Christ, look at the crap they hear about us!  So I'm starting a letter writing campaign.  I would like to do more but this will have to be a start.  I think it is disgusting that they picketed at the soldiers funeral. I'm posting all this info on any site I own.  I'm asking that you copy and paste this infor and do the same.  Please email this post to friends who aren't on myspace and post it on your personal site.  Also, write emails, tons,  to wrLu7Oef@godhatesamerica.com  This is the churches website.  In case you missed it this is the church who owns the website www.godhatesfags.com.  No you did not misread that.  This church disgust me and I want to see them go away.  Please help.  If anyone has ideas of things we can actively do to stop them or slow them down....let's talk.  Perhaps we can raise money to go where they go and do counter protest???  When I say counter protest, please understand that I don't want to stoop to their level.  I would prefer silent protest, in other words, trying to speak with the members, share the gospel with them, remembering that in they have been fed lies and are by all accounts members of a cult, brainwashed and hurting.  I'd love to simply give members another option.  I'd also love to talk with those in the crowd who stop to watch the car crash that is this church.  Perhaps they don't know who Christians really are and all they see is the loud scary cult.  This is what I mean, anyone in?

cult church email: wrLu7Oef@godhatesamerica.com

website: www.godhatesfags.com , It is the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS

This is my email to them, yes it's a bit passive aggressive but I was angry and not really thinking straight.

I am a Christian, really, and to clear things up now, I'm straight.  I know you won't listen to me otherwise. I live in TN.  I'm curious to know why in the world you would picket the funeral of a soldier.  That is horrible and cruel.  A family is grieving and you are picketing about homosexuality??? There is no connection and you are far from Christian.  I'm tired of cleaning up after you.  I'm tired of going out and sharing the gospel with people and having to explain to them about what a true Christian is.  I'm tired of having to explain that Christians view your church as a cult and not a true church of God.  The fact that Jesus Christ himself was constantly looked down upon for hanging out with the worst sinners of his time (thieves, don't forget murderers and prostitutes).  He loved everyone and realized that he had to show love for people to except God.  It hurts me deeply every time I see you picket something.  Most recently I saw you at Billy Graham in NYC.  We had just talked earlier in the day about how to share with homosexuals. They have so many things stopping them from knowing Christ.  I know 2 men who struggled with homosexuality in their younger years.  They are now 2 of the strongest Christians I know, happily married (to women of course) and both have grown children.  They talk openly about their past, how they struggled, and how they are able to use their struggles to help others.  The truth is sin is sin, there is no sin worse than any other, in human eyes there is, murder in my opinion is far worse than stealing a pack of gum.  Yet in God's eyes, they are the same.  Why have you picked out one sin to crucify people with?  I realize that your message of hate has gone on a long time as isn't going to stop any time soon.  I realize that this letter will go unnoticed.  However, i want you to know that I am starting a campaign to slow you down.  Rest assured, there are enough Christians in America today, true Christians who truly show love to everyone regaurdless of whether we agree with them, who will stand against you and stand for Christ.  I eagerly await your response.
sincerely,
Kristin Walker

This is the purpose statement from their website, I've changed nothing, it was copy and pasted straight from their site.  The inconsistencies are their own.  I have also left their links in tact. I have highlighted in yellow things that are sadly humorous considering what they do... Established in 1955 by Pastor Fred Phelps, the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) of Topeka, Kansas still exists today as an Old School (or, Primitive) Baptist Church. See the WBC Monograph. In short, we adhere to the teachings of the Bible, preach against all form of sin (e.g., fornication, adultery, sodomy), and insist that the doctrines of grace be taught publicly to all men. These doctrines of grace were well summed up by John Calvin in his 5 points of Calvinism: Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints. Although these doctrines are almost universally hated today, they were once loved and believed. For example, Augustine (one of the early Church fathers), Martin Luther (the founder of the Lutheran Church), John Knox (the founder of the Presbyterian Church), Augustus Toplady (hymnist and leader in the Episcopal Church), Charles Spurgeon (a well-known preacher), and John Leland (who was partially responsible for our First Amendment in the United States) are just a few examples of people who have advanced these ideas. Please see The Doctrine of Absolute Predestination by Jerom Zanchius and our MEMO ON THE CHURCH. Most of the major Confessions of Faith throughout the history of the New Testament Church have also advanced these ideas. So, even though the Arminian lies that "God loves everyone" and "Jesus died for everyone" are being taught from nearly every pulpit in this generation, this hasn't always been the case. In fact, if you are in a Church that supposedly believes the Bible, and you are hearing these lies, then your church has apostatized. If you are interested in this subject, we encourage you to do some independent research on the history of the Church from Adam to now and, more importantly, we encourage you to carefully read the entire Bible.

WBC engages in daily peaceful sidewalk demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth. We display large, colorful signs containing Bible words and sentiments, including: GOD HATES FAGS, FAGS HATE GOD, AIDS CURES FAGS, THANK GOD FOR AIDS, FAGS BURN IN HELL, GOD IS NOT MOCKED, FAGS ARE NATURE FREAKS, GOD GAVE FAGS UP, NO SPECIAL LAWS FOR FAGS, FAGS DOOM NATIONS, etc.

Perceiving the modern militant homosexual movement to pose a clear and present danger to the survival of America, exposing our nation to the wrath of God as in 1898 B.C. at Sodom and Gomorrah, WBC has conducted over 22,000 such demonstrations since June, 1991, at homosexual parades and other events (including funerals of impenitent sodomites, like Matthew Shepard). WBC teams have picketed all over the United States, and internationally (including Canada, Jordan and Iraq). The unique picketing ministry of Westboro Baptist Church has received international attention, and WBC believes this gospel message to be this world's last hope.

For more information about WBC, feel free to attend one of our weekly church meetings. We are located at 3701 W. 12th Street in Topeka, KS. Regular service time is 11:30 a.m. (Central time).

So there you have it.  I think those that they mentioned, Calvin and the like, would not have participated in his "peaceful walks" and they all likely roll in their graves every time someone reads that mission statement.

Here is a picture I took of the group at the Billy Graham crusades in NYC.  It is sad to me that the girl in pink has a huge smile on her face.  She was probably 15 or 16 years old.

Verse of the Day

I'm currently working on my master's in psychology.  I hope to one day be a counselor for adolescents.  Good stuff.  I love love love psychology.  It is a lot of fun, but granted, a lot of work too.

Here's a weird (so I'm told) fact about me...  I have made a commitment not to date.  Not the most popular commitment in these days but a commitment none the less.  My family totally doesn't get it, but my friends are supportive and understand, mostly.  I don't think dating is bad or anything like that, I just see singleness as a time when I can give myself freely to serve God with no ties or commitments to hold me down.  For instance, I'll spend a month doing mission work in NYC this summer.  This would be a lot harder if I knew there was a guy waiting for me back home.  I almost certainly couldn't do it if I were married, unless he went too.  I would have way to many strings to detach to get there.  So now your thinking, "Well if you don't date how will you marry?"  I don't know yet.  I'm not ready for marriage anyway, although I want to know who I'll marry.  I somehow suspect I've not yet met the guy.  Actually I'm positive I haven't.  I don't know that many guys now that I'd ever want to marry.  All I can say is how I'd like to see it happen, now whether that's God's plan or not is a whole different story.  So here's my vision... I will be friends with some guy for a while.  We've hung out, gotten to know each other and where we stand and there is just this moment of, "I'm an idiot, you're the person I'm going to marry and I never noticed."  I don't know, something like that I guess.  I'll let you know when it happens.
